The L10 UCM valve, a solenoid-controlled safety device, prevents unintended car movement (UCM) in hydraulic elevators. It allows oil to flow freely from the power unit to the cylinder during upward travel and blocks reverse flow once the solenoid valve energizes. This feature prevents unintended downward car movement (UCM) and complements the main control valve’s safety mechanisms.

The L10 also protects against car lowering caused by oil compressibility between the cylinder and control valve. Installing the L10 directly on the cylinder provides this protection.

For roped hydraulic systems, the optional LK piston safety system, or Slack Rope Valve, adds extra safety. This system is ideal for elevators with indirect transmission, such as 2:1 roped systems. The LK system stops the piston when the car is suspended or resting on buffers, preventing slack rope conditions and improving overall safety.
